Price increase for the 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football

The Lincolnshire FA are making clubs, coaches and volunteers aware that the 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football price has been increased. This increase has had to come into effect due to the funding support we receive being taken away from the programme. Currently Grantham College support our programme and this remains in place till July 31st but unfortunately this will no longer to in existence. This is not the fault of Grantham College, this is a national decision which sees nearly all County FA's being affected due to Learning Skills Council Funding changing.

The new price structure will see for the first time the FA Charter Standard clubs have a different price to rest of the football community.

The new prices are as follows and come into affect for courses from August 1st:

  • FA Charter Standard Club - £115.00
  • Full Price - £130.00

We are sorry to have to bring this increase into affect but we, as a County FA had no other choice.

Due to the pricing structure of Level 1 courses in Lincolnshire, candidates who enrol on to a course will now be monitored to ensure they are from an FA Charter Standard Club. If you falsely identified being part of an FA Charter Standard Club you will be contacted and required to pay the rest of the fee. Failure to pay the rest of the course fee will result in you being removed from the course and a deduction of £10.00 to cover administration costs will be incurred.

Lincolnshire County FA successfully deliver the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Football

During a long, hot week in April the Lincolnshire County FA embarked on its flagship Coaching Qualification, the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Football. This was the first time in a number of years that Lincolnshire have managed to facilitate this course and with the number of people who booked on and attended the course, the first part of the course has been a success.

The course is taking place at Ruston Sports and Social Club in Lincoln with 21 candidates attending and completing the 6 days intensive coaching days. The candidates have travelled from all over Lincolnshire and are completing the qualification for a number of different reasons. The tutors who are delivering the course are Nigel Richardson and Mick Matthews who both have vast experience within football and delivering the higher level qualifications.

The course is also being supported by Lincoln College as they have provided some students to act as participants to enable more coaches to observe what is going on and also give the chance for more people to have a rest.

Whilst on a visit to the course, Paul Hamnett (Football Development Officer) noted that all the candidates seemed to be enjoying themselves and also scribbling down and taking in vast amounts of information. Furthermore the candidates were able to work on their sun tans or in some cases their sun burn as the course took place in glorious sunshine with temperatures in the twenties, so they could not ask for any better weather.

The course is set to continue in June with further dates in August and the assessments taking place later in the year but fingers crossed that the course, the enthusiasm and the weather continues to be a success.

There are currently no further courses planned by the Lincolnshire CFA as we wait to hear from the FA about the future plans for the delivery and administration of the Level 3 course. Please note that any courses will be advertised on our website when we have the details.
