FA Level 1 Goalkeeping Coaching Certificate

Due to the pricing structure of courses in Lincolnshire, candidates who enrol on to a course will now be monitored to ensure they are from an FA Charter Standard Club. If you falsely identified being part of an FA Charter Standard Club you will be contacted and required to pay the rest of the fee. Failure to pay the rest of the course fee will result in you being removed from the course and a deduction of £10.00 to cover administration costs will be incurred.

Cancellation Policy

Lincolnshire County Football Association adheres to a strict cancellation policy. For all course cancellations within 14 days of the course starting there will be an administration charge of 20% per course.
If you cancel your place on the course before the 14 day period, you will be charged £5.00 to cover administration costs.

What is the FA Level 1 Goalkeeping Coaching Certificate?
This is a new course for coaches who wish to learn the basic technical aspects of Goalkeeping. It is an ideal course for those coaches who have completed the FA/1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football and who wish to develop their technical expertise in Goalkeeping further.

For whom is the course intended?

The course has open access, and is available to any person who wants to improve their “Technical” knowledge of Goalkeeping.

It is highly recommended that all candidates have attended Emergency Aid and Safeguarding Children modules prior to attending this course. The Football Association will not be able to certify any candidate with the Goalkeeping Coaching Award (Level 1), until they have completed these mandatory modules.

Course objectives:

On completion of the course the competent coach will be able to:
Coach basic individual techniques
Understand how to develop and improve the Goalkeepers technique
Plan and prepare progressive Technical and Functional practices
Maintain the health and safety of the players and other coaches
Maintain the high standards of conduct to promote Association Football


Entry requirements & Pre-requisites

Prior to acceptance on the course, candidates must produce evidence or current certificates of attendance / awards in the following:

FA Safeguarding Children
FA Emergency Aid ( or equivalent) Certificate .

Practical Demonstrations:

Specific Goalkeeping warm ups and cool downs / Footwork / The ‘Set’ position / General hand techniques / Diving saves – catching / Deflecting / Parrying / Dealing with 1 v 1 / Dealing with crosses / Distribution – variation and technical principles

Practical Assessment:
