Fosse Way Primary School become Lincolnshire CFA first Focus School
The Lincolnshire CFA has awarded their first School Club Link Award to Fosse Way Primary School in North Hykeham. The school club link programme has replaced the FA Charter Standard Schools programme with Fosse Way embracing the new award. This award for Fosse Way shows a commitment from the school to help in player’s progression from school football to club football. The programme also sees a commitment to young leaders and volunteers and how they can be involved during school football.
Fosse Way Primary School shows a large commitment to football by providing a school team at both Year 5 and Year 6, lunchtime clubs for different year groups, Year 6 pupils supporting the teachers and teaching assistants during lunchtimes and plans to provide opportunities for girls to participate further.
Furthermore, Fosse Way have been successful in obtaining a new school team kit through the Football Foundation Junior Kit Scheme and are currently applying for funding to replace their goalposts.
The staff member in charge of football, Sally Brownlow has worked hard to establish a successful football programme in the school and this award rewards the commitment shown by the school and Sally.
The school football programme will be reviewed every year and the school must show how they have contributed to football in the past year and showing this commitment will ensure they keep their award.
