Women and Girls Football Overview

The Women and Girl’s football grows in popularity season after season - Last season the number of girls and women playing in football leagues or cup competitions nationally peaked at over 155,000. There are over 10,000 girl’s teams across England playing competitive 11-a-side football every week throughout the season. Lincolnshire currently has around 70 Women and Girls football teams who participate in one of Lincolnshire’s four female only leagues or, in one of the Regional/National Leagues within the Women’s Football Pyramid League Structure.

Linzi Hewitt, Lincolnshire County FA’s Women and Girls Football Development Officer, is here to help you with matters relating to leagues, team development, female coach education, school club link projects, taster sessions, developing new teams and club meetings, to ensure the development of Women and Girls Football within the County.
