ACCESS PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT TO IMPROVE AND MAINTAIN YOUR FOOTBALL SITE

The need for this service is more relevant now than ever, given the current economic times and the pressures facing grassroots football.

The FA, the Football Foundation and the Grounds Management Association (GMA) are working together to revolutionise the state of pitches across England, ensuring that by 2030, grassroots football has 20,000 ‘good’ quality pitches to enjoy. The Football Foundation’s revolutionary web-app PitchPower will be the driving force behind the pitch improvement programme. By partnering with the GMA, clubs and organisations will now be able to access detailed guidance along with Football Foundation funding to improve the nation’s grassroots pitches.

The Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund is a key part of this ambition and provides eligible organisations with a tapered six-year grant to help them sustain pitches already at a 'good' level and enhance pitches that are either considered 'poor' or 'basic'.

Pitches are categorised as shown in the table below - your Pitch Power Assessment Report will identify the standard of each pitch on site.

Would you like a Support Pitch Advisor to visit your venue?

Lincolnshire FA can connect your club with a Support Pitch Advisor (SPA) for your very first PitchPower assessment if you need it who can walk you through the process for the cost of £100. To request an appointment with an SPA, please complete the following survey.

The cost for the visit would be £100 regardless of number of pitches or number of committee members able to attend on the day.

Good News Stories

Here at the Lincolnshire FA we wanted to share with you some good news stories linked to the Grass Pitch Improvement Programme, which is a programme run in partnership with the FA and Grounds Management Association (GMA).

We invite you to read more by opening the document below, which features stories from Broughton Community & Sports Association, Bottesford Town Football Club and Long Bennington Football Club.

HIVE GROUNDSKEEPING APP

Groundskeepers from around Lincolnshire can now showcase their work on the Football Foundation's new app.

The Football Foundation recently launched the new Football Foundation Groundskeeping Community and App. This is the first of a number of support tools to support grass pitch improvement and the site has been developed in partnership with the FA and Groundskeeping Management Association (previously named Institute of Groundsman) to support volunteers and qualified groundskeepers to maintain pitches.

This is a collaborative space that will:

build knowledge and understanding on key operations of pitch maintenance throughout the year
connect with fellow groundskeepers and share experiences
seek expert advice on getting the most from the pitches groundskeepers manage

The link below will allow you to access the site free of charge and has a welcome message from Karl Standley, Head Groundsman at Wembley Stadium. Once registered, the Hive Learning app for iOS or Android is the easiest way to access the community on the go.
