There is a new name on the Peterborough Junior Alliance fixture list this season as the first boys' team to be affiliated to Baston FC compete in the…

Baston, who were formed in 2005, already have a successful Saturday men's section and this season have added a Sunday men's side, an U12s and started a mini-soccer academy.

The U12s were set up after a lot of hard work over the summer and are indebted to the support of Baston Parish Council, and local businesses, including kit sponsor, The Baskervilles hotel, bar and restaurant, in Baston.

The team won three successive summer tournaments as they built up their squad for the season ahead, returning triumphant from tournaments in Holbeach, Norfolk and Peterborough.

Sophie Bartup, Lincolnshire FA Football Development Officer said “I would like to say a huge congratulations to the whole workforce of volunteers at Baston FC for their hard work and commitment to achieving the FA Charter Standard Award. It was great to see their mini-soccer academy and U12 team at the presentation supported by a number of Baston FC senior players. I look forward to working with Baston FC as they continue to develop as a club raising standards within grass roots football and wish them good luck for the rest of the season.”
