Women's County Cup Semi Final Supporting RESPECT

GRIMSBY TOWN WOMEN TO FACE LOCAL RIVALS CLEETHORPES TOWN LADIES IN A RESPECT FIXTURE AT BLUNDELL PARK

Lincolnshire FA is proud to announce that the forthcoming Women’s County Cup Semi-Final between Grimsby Town Women and Cleethorpes Town Ladies at Blundell Park will be a RESPECT fixture.

Alongside the already-scheduled fixtures to be played throughout the remainder of 2019/20, the local derby between the two sides at Grimsby Town’s Blundell Park on Sunday 16 February (kick-off 2pm) will also represent a fantastic opportunity to show RESPECT.

As part of the fixture, players will sport special t-shirts throughout their respective warm-ups, whilst mascots of both teams will also be taking part in activities during the afternoon. Supporters are greatly encouraged to attend and show their backing of the RESPECT campaign.

The match itself is set to be an entertaining contest, presenting both teams with a brilliant chance to reach the final of the Women’s County Cup where they will play either Lincoln City Women or Lincoln Moorlands-Railway LFC.

Speaking to www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk, Grimsby Town Ladies Manager Dale Houlston said he expects a great turn-out from supporters on the day. He said: “One thing is for sure, it will capture the imagination of a lot of people in the area and it's certain to be well supported, especially as the game is going to be played at Blundell Park.

“I think that based on our last game at Blundell Park, where we had over 500 supporters, we might see quite a few more than that this time, and we might be about to set another record for the area in women's football attendance.

“What a wonderful privilege that is for everyone connected with both clubs, two local women's teams that have reached the semi-final of the Lincolnshire County Cup, putting on a football festival at the home of football in the area. My message to supporters of both teams is this; come and watch us and have a fantastic afternoon out, we will be delighted to see you all and very grateful too.”

Tickets for the match are available to be purchased now. Cost of admission is £3 for over-18s, whilst under-18s can purchase tickets for £1. Meanwhile, under-14s go free of charge with an accompanying adult.
