Winter Pitch Course Held at Lincoln City

LINCOLNSHIRE FA HOST LEVEL 1 WINTER PITCH COURSE AT LNER STADIUM

Working alongside the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG), Lincolnshire FA delivered a Winter Pitch Level 1 course at Lincoln City’s LNER Stadium on Sunday 26 January, with six participants from four clubs in attendance.
Nationally, The FA has aspirations to improve 20,000 grass pitches across the country and Lincolnshire FA recognise that volunteers are an invaluable resource and a vital part of achieving this.

The Level 1 course at Lincoln City was a hugely successful event, providing learners with valuable knowledge and skills to help improve local sites and contribute to The FA’s national targets.

Delivered by an industry expert from the IOG, the Level 1 course addressed key subjects including assessment, aeration, mowing and line marking, whilst offering educational, hands-on training.

After attending the event, the Broughton Community & Sports Association said: “Many thanks to Julien Morris from the IOG and Adam Thurston at Lincolnshire FA for putting on the Level 1 Groundsman course at Lincoln City. It was very informative and will definitely help us and BR JFC further improve our Rec Field and grassroots football in our community.”

Lincolnshire FA would like to thank the IOG for their support with this event and Lincoln City for the use of their facilities.
