Four sessions form the Monday Night Football: Coach Development series

Ray Power Coach Education are excited about their upcoming series of Coach Development online training courses.

The Monday Night Football: Coach Development series of sessions aims to educate coaches and enhance their awareness of developing teams in a multitude of ways. They will be available on Monday evenings over the course of four weeks.

Ray Power brings a reputation as a highly-acclaimed footballer and coach developer. He is particularly noteworthy for his best-selling coaching books: Making The Ball Roll and Coaching Youth Football, as well as for the Deliberate Soccer Practice series of session plans.

Scoring & Preventing Goals

The first session is Scoring & Preventing Goals, which takes place on Monday 20 March 2023 from 19.00 to 20.00. This particular session will focus on the art of goal-scoring and defending from attacks, thus strengthening a team at both ends of the pitch. It will cover three specific topics: how goals are scored; the implications for both attacking and defending; and how the rest of the game can influence both aims. Winning At All Costs

The second session is Winning At All Costs, which takes place on Monday 27 March 2023 from 19.00 to 20.00. This particular session will delve into the significance of winning for a coach and how to develop a winning mentality throughout a team. It will cover three specific topics: the argument of development over results; dispelling the notion that winning is the enemy; and exploring how a 'win at all costs' attitude influences our wider coaching. Age Appropriate Session Planning

The third session is Age Appropriate Session Planning, which takes place on Monday 10 April 2023 from 19.00 to 20.00. This particular session will discuss tailoring football coaching towards age ranges, especially for players who reach critical points in their careers. It will cover three specific topics: different types of 'age' and how that influences coaching; how football sessions evolve as players get older; and the relationship between the technical and tactical development of players. Football Intelligence

The final session is Football Intelligence, which takes place on Monday 17 April 2023 from 19.00 to 20.00. This particular session will relate to the art of demonstrating vast knowledge of the beautiful game from a coaching perspective. It will cover three specific topics: what football intelligence might be; the role of information gathering (such as scanning); and adding football intelligence to coaching sessions.
