Brand-New U23 Development League To Launch in 2019/20

Lincolnshire FA is pleased to announce that it will be launching a brand-new county-wide U23 Development League ahead of the 2019/20 season.

The midweek floodlit competition will replace the existing U21 Development League, which has proven to be hugely successful over the past four seasons.

The league itself will operate with a flexible registration policy, allowing players - including trialists - to sign on up to 30 minutes before kick-off.

Competing teams within the new U23 Development League will also be permitted to play three over-age players, with the focus at all times being centred on player development.

Match officials, wherever possible, will be selected from the current Lincolnshire FA promotion list.

Member clubs will again receive financial support from the County FA in relation to match official costs.

The previous Development League structure proved to be hugely beneficial in retaining young players and supporting their transition between youth and open age football.

Previous winners of the U21 division include Boston United FC, Lincoln City FC, Lincoln United FC & 2018/19 champions, Grantham Town Academy.

Club application forms and general enquiries should be sent through to league secretary, Jake Park, via email on by Sunday 30 June.
