Lincolnshire Referees At Premier League International Tournament
Lincolnshire FA is proud to announce that three young county referees were selected to officiate the Premier League U13s International Tournament held at Loughborough University at the end of April.
Youngsters Ethan Nundy, Harry Atkin and Robbie Hall represented part of a 12-man team of officials to oversee the tournament that included a mixture of both UK-based and international academy teams.
Those in attendance included top-flight youth teams who had qualified from their respective regions: Chelsea, Manchester City, West Ham United, Fulham, Leicester City and Everton. There were also some Championship sides taking part in the tournament too, namely Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City.
European outfits such as PSV Eindhoven, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan also played in the three-day event.
Ethan, Harry and Robbie are all members of the FA CORE (Centre of Referee Excellence) programme and as such receive coaching and development opportunities under the guidance of The FA and lead for the Eastern Region Premier League Referee Kevin Friend.
All three performed superbly at the tournament with Ethan and Harry selected as Referee and Assistant Referee respectively to take charge of the Final between Manchester City and Chelsea. The Blues were narrow 1-0 winners in a fast and highly skilled match.
Congratulations to Ethan, Harry and Robbie for their fantastic achievement.
