Long Bennington Junior Football Club

Long Bennington Football Club aims to provide "Football for All" in a happy and safe environment where players of all ages and abilities can play and love football. We undertake to treat all members equally and to encourage fair play, team spirit and friendship.

Long Bennington Football Club is a Charter Standard Community Club, with boys & girls teams from U6/U7 though to U18, plus adult senior & veterans teams.  With walking football for the over 50's & Disability football planned in the near future, we truly hope to provide  FOOTBALL FOR ALL

All LBFC coaches have CRC / CRC checks & all teams have at least one FA Licensed Qualified Level 1 coach.

At LBFC we have established & well maintained grass pitches with permanent modern goals in place for 5-a-side, 7-a-side, 9-a-side & three 11-a-side pitches of various sizes to cover all the relevant ages & levels of football. With a modern pavilion we have access to changing rooms, showers, storage & a main hall for events & presentations.                                                                                    With a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) & the MSF (Multi Sports Facility) LBFC have full use of two floodlit all weather enclosed training areas.                                                                                                                                                                                 Long Bennington Football Club is also easily accessible from the surrounding areas with easy access off the A1 from either North or South bound carriageways. The Playing field has plenty of free & safe on street parking on the widest Main Street of any village in the country. Not Bad for what is essentially a Village football club?  So, what do we mean by "FOOTBALL FOR ALL"

Just starting out?

U6 & U7 training sessions on a Saturday morning (9am - 10am); all welcome, just come along & watch your child have fun!

Calling all Girls!

"Girls Only" training sessions on a Wednesday evening (6pm - 7pm) - mixed ages from 6/7 to 12.

Our U15 Girls team then train on Wednesday evening from from 7pm - 8pm, we are looking for new players in all positions to strengthen our current squad.

Off to Secondary School next year? Looking for a new Team & challenge?

The current LBFC U11's Team (2014-2015), or next seasons U12's team (2015-2016) are looking to recruit new players to strengthen our current squad. We are planning with a view to developing a strong playing squad which will be ready for 11-a-side during the following season (2016-2017) & beyond.

You may well be an established player? Your team may well be folding as players stop playing as they move onto secondary school? or you may be looking to improve & develop in an environment where it's not all about "win at all costs" & where all players are treated equally?

If this is you? If this is what you're looking for? Then please contact us, come along to training, & meet the players & hopefully join us?

All age groups - U8's, U9's, U10's, U11's........

All age group team training sessions are held on midweek evenings under floodlights.

Walking into the Future - Walking Football for the over 50's

We are looking to start a Walking Football group on Friday nights under floodlights. We need someone to come along, organise & manage the group; helping to organise the evenings and encourage all interested players.

Given the number of previous players in senior years, we have lots of interest in the possibility of Walking Football.

Just this season alone has seen Long Bennington Football Club complete an ambitious Sport England playing Field Grant project & be awarded Community Charter Standard status.  We need, & would like to recruit any & all like minded volunteers to come & join us. Please come & be part of our continued success and development.

Given our ambitious development plans to increase the number of football teams we will need many more Football Coaches & Team Managers to coach & develop the players and manage the teams.

At LBFC, we have a philosophy that player development is always more important than teams winning medals & trophies. So if you're a like minded football person who's passionate about developing the next generation of footballers? Then come & join us?

All coaches will be backed up with full club support from an FA Club Mentor, Coach Coordinator, secretary & Child Welfare Officer. After a suitable qualifying period (commitment shown) all fees for any coaching courses are paid for by the club. So these are excellent opportunities for coaches to gain extra qualifications whilst gaining valuable coaching experience.

But volunteering doesn't have to mean wearing a tracksuit & whistle whilst coaching football or managing a team?

As a new Community Charter Standard Club we will need volunteers in a number of roles.....

Additional Child Welfare Officer?  - To assist & share responsibilities with our established qualified LBFC Club CWO

Publicity & Promotions Officer? - Qualified or want experience in Marketing, PR or promotions? As few or as many hours as you want.

Groundsman / Playing Field Assistant - We currently have 3 playing fields & 6 football pitches that require marking out & maintaining.

Refreshments / shop / Catering?  - Saturday morning Match day, training sessions & events catering (most probably to become a paid position / opportunity?)
