Low commitment… high enjoyment! Over-35s Football in Boston

There is currently ONE team slot available in the Boston Over 35 Leisure League

Football should not have to stop when players finish their traditional 11 v 11 careers and now it doesn’t have to, with a variety of small sided and traditional football offers available for Over 35s in Lincolnshire.

The recently formed Over 35 Leisure League in Boston has successfully been operating for eight weeks since its launch in mid-September, with seven teams regularly competing each week on the brand-new state-of-the-art facility at Haven High Academy in Boston.

The league was formed based upon conversations between the Lincolnshire FA, Haven High Academy & Leisure Leagues, with all three keen to deliver an inclusive, high quality football participation opportunity for mature players. The league offers players the opportunity to continue their playing careers and benefit from improved mental, physical and social wellbeing. The format allows for a low commitment, but highly enjoyable football experience which is becoming increasingly popular up and down the country.

There is currently ONE team slot available in the league. Playing squads of nine are permitted and entry into the league is currently FREE, so sign your team up today by visiting the link below:

Jake Park, LFA Football Development Officer, said: “The Over 35 league small-sided football league has been a great success thus far, we knew there was a gap in the market for this type of football in this particular part of the county, so it’s been rewarding to see how many individuals we’ve managed to engage with through this offer. One of our key objectives at the Lincolnshire Football Association is to increase the supply of high-quality playing opportunities targeting 35+ year old players, and we’ve achieved that through innovative partnership working with forward thinking organisations."

Michael Clarke, Leisure Leagues Area Manager, added: “We’ve had such a terrific demand for 6-a-side football since we (Leisure Leagues) returned to the area three years ago. The move to the stunning new 3G pitches at Haven High this summer has only fuelled demand for small-sided football.

“Together with the incredible support of Jake at the Lincolnshire FA, it’s allowed us to create this unique and dedicated league for the over 35s market to create new and exciting opportunities for more individuals to participate in competitive sport locally.

“What’s also very pleasing to see is the respect between players and our referee. People enjoy the organisation we bring as a whole and this league undoubtedly extends their playing career in a more manageable mid-week setup.”
