Lincolnshire FA is delighted to report that we have seen a huge growth in female football participation and delivery across Lincolnshire this season – including through Weetabix Wildcats, with the number of providers expanding from 27 to 35 in the latest application process!

This is an extremely exciting time for female football in Lincolnshire, and that buzz is only likely to increase throughout the summer as the Lionesses compete for silverware at UEFA Women's EURO, which is being hosted in England. 

What is Weetabix Wildcats?

Weetabix Wildcats provides the perfect opportunity for girls aged 5-11 to try football for the very first time. It’s non-competitive football for girls, delivered by FA qualified coaches and volunteers, and is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and have loads of fun. 

With the number of Lincolnshire providers increasing by eight in the latest application process, this will provide new footballing opportunities to a minimum of 240 young girls aged 5-11 over the next season.

Navenby JFC
Young Dons FC
Market Rasen FC
Bottesford Town
Bourne Town 
Ruston Sports
Long Bennington FC

What’s next?

Here at Lincolnshire FA we have big aspirations, in line with The FA’s strategy, that by the end of our strategy we will provide an opportunity for every female to participate in the game, no matter if they are five years old or 75 years old

We also aim to increase opportunities for those in minority groups, whether it’s playing affiliated or recreational football, enjoying football within education, coaching, officiating or simply acting as volunteers.
