The awards ceremony was held at Boston United's Jakemans Community Stadium

Lincolnshire's Grassroots Football Award winning heroes were recognised at the annual awards ceremony on Thursday 2nd November, at Boston United FC's Jakemans Community Stadium.

The awards recognised local winners, two of whom were national Grassroots Football Award winners, and were presented by Chair of Lincolnshire FA, Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, with the ceremony being presented by LCR FM's Bryan Rundle.LFA Grassoots Football Awards

The Grassroots Football Awards is our opportunity to celebrate the people and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to grassroots football in the Lincolnshire region.

The local football community responded in their droves to our call out to nominate their grassroots heroes, with hundreds of nominations received across the twelve award categories. We’d like to once again thank every single person who took the time to make a nomination. The 2024 nominations window will open in due course.

The full list of winners can be found here, and the event programme from the evening can be found here.

Chair of Lincolnshire FA, Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, said: "When I started this role in July, I realised many things in a short space of time. For example, just how vast football is in Lincolnshire, with 30,000 players registered across 365 clubs. All of this is overseen by the Lincolnshire FA, but just some of the inspirational people in the room tonight is what allows the game to happen in Lincolnshire – and for that we are extremely grateful.

Tonight, we celebrated the extraordinary people who give so much to the grassroots football community in Lincolnshire, and who have been and continue to be such a positive influence on the lives of so many. We celebrated all the volunteers, coaches, referees,   and officials who dedicate their time and energy to making football more accessible, and LFA Grassoots Football Awards more rewarding for people. I thank them all sincerely for their dedication. They are the   beating heart of football in Lincolnshire, and they all make grassroots football happen."

CEO of Lincolnshire FA, Nick Hanson, said: "Tonight is, without doubt, one of the   highlights of the Lincolnshire grassroots footballing calendar. It’s an event that is   extremely valuable and important to the Association. It’s our chance to recognise and   celebrate the inspirational, dedicated, passionate, and exceptional individuals that make   grassroots football possible in this wonderful County. It’s an opportunity for the community to come together in one place to share and enjoy the successes and stories of people from all over the county, and from a variety of roles. From leagues, clubs, coaches, match officials, and volunteers – tonight is about celebrating the remarkable achievements of the people whom without, the game would not be possible.

It’s our job at Lincolnshire FA to support grassroots football, including the people in it, and help grow the game; we cannot do this without the people we shared the room with tonight. Volunteers are football’s biggest and most valuable asset; they are what this beautiful game is built upon. Without the people who give up their time and effort, often with little or no reward, football doesn’t happen. All of us at Lincolnshire FA – from the staff, board, council, Youth Council, and IAG – would like to thank everyone for all that they do.
