International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.
The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.
And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women.

Kirsty Dixon, Football Development Officer (Women & Girls) at Lincolnshire FA, said: "We are super excited to announce the 2024 edition of Lincolnshire's International Women's Day event, in collaboration with the QuickLine Lincolnshire Women & Girls League. After the immense success of last season's event, where we were joined by trail-blazing women from across the county - as well as Lydia Bedford, Sam Griffiths, Gemma Bell, and Beth Heath - we hope to make this year's event bigger and better than ever before!
I'd like to extend my immense gratitude to the Lincolnshire Women & Girls League committee for help with supporting the delivery of this event, without them the event could not take place. The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion, and we hope to do just that with this event by showcasing the amazing people who are leading the way at developing Women & Girls football in our area.
The aim of the event is to inspire, engage and educate participants about the women and girls game across Lincolnshire. We are delivering small workshops to help participants to explore opportunities and share their personal experiences. The Women and Girls game is continuously growing and I'm excited celebrate the success at our event'".
