Media Officer CPD Event Announced With Lincoln City FC

An exciting, not-to-be-missed opportunity to hear from an EFL, professional media team

Lincolnshire FA are excited to announce a new and innovative CPD event for volunteer Media Officers across grassroots football in the County, hosted by Lincoln City FC's Communications team.

The event will be hosted at the LNER Stadium on Thursday 18th July 2024, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and share best practice from a professional, EFL standard media team while having opportunity to network and share best practice with other volunteer media people in grassroots football. It's a first-of-its-kind event and while it's hoped it's the first of many, this is an exciting and rare opportunity that is not to be missed.

The event details are below:

Date: Thursday 18th July 2024
Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm (6:15pm Arrival)
Venue: LNER Stadium, Sincil Bank, Lincoln, LN5 8LD

After consulting with volunteers from the grassroots football community, it became evident that there is a strong desire for more support and recognition for their efforts. In response to this feedback, we launched our Media Officer Support Group which currently has 44 members and is supported by Lincoln City, Boston United, and Scunthorpe United.

The primary goal of this working group is to foster a supportive network among media, marketing, and communications officers across Lincolnshire football clubs. By joining this group, individuals will have the opportunity to:

Collaborate on campaigns: We work together on national and local campaigns to promote football opportunities and initiatives in our communities.

Increase engagement: We share ideas and strategies to enhance engagement with your projects and your clubs.

Share best practices: We host regular briefings to exchange knowledge and learn from each other, as well as host CPD events for personal development and aim to provide exclusive opportunities.

Provide support: Media Officers will have access to a WhatsApp group where you can communicate with fellow officers and receive regular updates and assistance.

The contributions of volunteers to the success of football in our region is invaluable, and we want to ensure we do more to support those who make our game happen so they feel supported and empowered in their roles.

If you or someone at your club is involved with your media, communications, or marketing, we invite you to join our Media Officer Support Group by filling out the form below:

Zack Leader, Media & Marketing Officer at Lincolnshire FA, said: "This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for volunteers in Media related roles in our area. One thing we learnt from our consultation survey earlier in the season was that while many volunteers appreciate being recognised and rewarded, many would like better support networks to help them in their roles.

Events like this, generously hosted by Lincoln City's Communications Team, provide a unique and exciting opportunity from industry experts that our volunteers can utilise to take hints and tips into their own practices within their clubs. It's a first of its kind event and is not one to be missed!"
