Mental Health Awareness & Support

Lincolnshire Football Association is dedicated to ensuring that everyone involved in football across Greater Lincolnshire is aware of the importance of mental health and knows of the support networks available to anyone in need.

Looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health. Mental health issues are incredibly common:

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England
1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week in England

Furthermore;

1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts
1 in 14 people self-harm
1 in 15 people attempt suicide

And suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under the age of 50 in the UK.

Mental health concerns are often harder to identify than physical concerns, which is why its vital coaches, teammates, referees and volunteers to understand how they can help.

The County FA is currently developing its mental health resources and welcomes the support from any individual or organisation that wishes to support our goal of increasing the awareness and understanding of mental health.
