Neurodiversity Awareness CPD Programme Announced

The programme of events is set to raise awareness of neurodiversity, with a focus on ADHD and Autism and how this impacts football

Lincolnshire FA are pleased to announce their CPD programme of events to raise awareness of neurodiversity and how it impacts football.

Neurodiversity Awareness Webinar – Tuesday 2nd April at 6pm

The programme will begin on the 2nd April at 6pm, where Lincolnshire FA will be hosting a Neurodiversity Awareness and Football Webinar. The webinar will introduce the concept of neurodiversity, with a specific focus on Autism and ADHD, and will help clubs with practical strategies to be more welcoming and inclusive of neurodivergent people and children.Lex

The session will be delivered by Jordan Mason (Lincolnshire FA Inclusion Lead), Lex Harvey-Bryn (Lincolnshire FA’s Neurodiversity Ambassador) and Emma Day (Autism Unravelled).

Prior to Lex’s ADHD and Autism diagnosis, Lex’s career took a journey through public and third sector in leadership, CSR and inclusion. She as since turned to championing for neurodivergent individuals, taking on roles including coach, therapist, trainer, and charity trustee. Lex is a Director at Gainsborough Trinity FC, and has a huge amount of experience across sport and football.Emma Day

Emma currently a Clinical Speech and Language Team lead developing the pathway for children under 5 with Social Communication  differences in London. Additionally, she works within the Autism (and ADHD) Diagnostic Service: Children and Adults. She has a passion  for supporting neurodiversity in football and community services, and has experience delivering training with the Premier League, Arsenal  FC and Police services.

Following the webinar on the 2nd, Lincolnshire FA will be delivering two in-person CPD events to support coaches and volunteers in applying their learnings.

How to Manage and Observe Difference

On Thursday 11th April 2024, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Lincoln City 3G, Lincolnshire FA are hosting a workshop focused on ‘How to Manage and Observe Difference’. The workshop will have a specific focus on Autism and ADHD within mainstream teams, and will be delivered by one of the FA’s Coach Development Team, with support from the Lincolnshire FA Disability Coach Mentor and Neurodiversity Ambassador.

Coaching Disabled Footballers

On Thursday 25th April 2024, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Lincoln City 3G, Lincolnshire FA will be hosting a ‘Coaching Disabled Footballers’ workshop, supporting coaches within the disability football pathway. The workshop will help you to understand how to support players with a disability or impairment to enjoy the best possible football experience, and will be delivered by one of the FA’s Coach Development Team, with support from the Lincolnshire FA Disability Coach Mentor.
