New CPD Event: Benefits Of Small Sided Games
Lincolnshire FA, in partnership with the Lincolnshire Co-Op Mid Lincs Youth Football League, have announced an upcoming CPD event for coaches that focuses on the benefits of small sided games.
The CPD is designed for grassroots coaches to provide training and guidance on the concept of small sided games, as well as their benefits and application in grassroots football. The workshop will explore how to use small-sided games to engage and develop players. It will be designed to demonstrate the benefits for one of the following age groups:
- Ages 5-11
- Ages 12-16
- Open Age
The workshop aims to equip coaches and educators with the knowledge, skills, resources and inspiration to deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate grassroot coaching sessions using small-sided games.
The desired outcomes of the event will help coaches understand how they can use small sided games to:
- Develop players attacking and defending skills.
- Meet the differing needs and abilities of the players (STEP).
- Emphasise goals, opposition, direction.
